NLDS Game 4 of Nats-Cubs rained out, set to play Wednesday

The showers came a little late, but the rain that soaked Wrigley Field and washed out Game 4 of the NL Division Series followed Tuesday’s forecast pretty closely.

Instead, Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker delivered the biggest surprise of the day.

Baker announced after the rainout that he will stay with Tanner Roark for Wednesday’s must-win game against the Chicago Cubs instead of giving the ball to ace Stephen Strasburg on regular rest. Jake Arrieta pitches for the Cubs in his return from a right hamstring injury.

From the latest on A.J. Green, Chris Hogan and more, Mike Clay has the information you need to make the right fantasy football decisions this week.
The Cardinals have had major troubles running the football since the David Johnson wrist injury in Week 1, and that’s partly because the replacements weren’t, well, David Johnson, but also the offensive line isn’t performing well. Chris Johnson, who had some bountiful moments in his fine career and played competently as recently as 2015, which is also the last time Peterson did, was cut Tuesday to make room. Chris Johnson was averaging 2.5 yards per carry this season. Will Peterson really be much of an upgrade?

Well, as one might expect, it’s tough to be optimistic about this trade altering the fantasy landscape. Peterson is healthy and remains in fine shape, but the Cardinals are last in the NFL in rushing yards for a reason, and it probably wasn’t solely about personnel. In theory, Peterson will see considerably more volume than he got with the Saints, so the trade should elevate expectations to a degree. Peterson Cheap NFL Jerseys China was never a great fit with New Orleans, not when Mark Ingram is still competent and rookie Alvin Kamara is teasing star potential. Peterson turned his 29 touches into 85 yards. If the Cheap Barcelona Jerseys Cardinals simply let him run, then there is surely flex potential here.

The NFL was busy on Tuesday following a lackluster Monday Night Football matchup between the Giants and Vikings. Transactions involved arrivals and dismissals on several teams throughout the league.

The biggest move of the day came from the Rams, who replaced Sam Bradford with the well-traveled Brady Quinn at quarterback, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Fellow free agent passer Cheap Authentic NFL Jerseys Austin Davis was signed by the Rams as well, per Rapoport. Quinn was cut on Monday by the Jets after New York activated David Garrard from the exempt list. The Rams are Quinn’s sixth team in seven years. Bradford was placed on injured reserve and guard Brandon Washington was waived to make room for Quinn and Davis, according to ESPN’s Nick Wagoner.

Here are some more of the NFL moves that were made on Tuesday:

Over at Big Blue View, Ed Valentine wrote about New York finally hitting the opposing quarterback a little bit:

The Giants got only one sack of Freeman Monday, by Justin Tuck, but had 13 hits on Freeman. They made him uncomfortable in the pocket, and that was good enough.
For Minnesota, the loss drops it to 1-5 and likely out of any playoff contention. The Vikings were flat bad, turning the ball over three times and only having the ball for 23:38.

Unfortunately for head coach Leslie Frazier, Freeman was beyond awful completing 20 of 53 passes for 190 yards and an interception. Adrian Peterson was not much better, gaining 28 yards on 13 carries.

Christopher Gates of the Daily Norseman talked about the gameplan heading into Monday:

With the Vikings starting Josh Freeman, a quarterback that they had only signed a couple of weeks ago, the team inexplicably put together a game plan that involved only thirteen carries (and 28 yards) Cheap Barcelona Jerseys for Adrian Peterson, and a whopping fifty-three pass attempts from Freeman. Freeman only completed 20 of those attempts for 190 yards and an interception.
